In Model Rocketry cadets learn how rockets operate and how to build them. Cadets are given classes and first aid training to learn proper procedures and safety precautions as we start constructing rockets. Once our rockets are made, they will be launched at the soccer fields just out side of town to the North. We will have 3 weeks in class time. This may be working on our rockets or doing various class work. Then on the fourth week of that month we will be launching our rockets that we have been working so hard on.
Cadets can earn the Model Rocketry Badge and Activities Ribbon for their uniform through their participation in this LDR. Even if you are not in this LDR or not anymore you can wear this badge and ribon the rest of your Air Force JROTC career. Rocketry meetings are every Saturday from 1000 -1200 hrs, cadets are able to join every quarter. In Model Building cadets will learn to assemble and paint Military based models of their choice. Then the cadets will write a two page essay and create a slide show briefing to give to the class.
